Crafting songs which range from achy-hearted, string-laden confessionals to sleek, chic soundtracks for the small hours, Katy J Pearson is a singer-songwriter for the modern catastrophic age. The Bristol-based British artist first cut her teeth in 2010s indie pop band Ardyn alongside her brother, Rob Pearson, before adapting a more acoustic leaning, country-tinged sound for her solo work. Her third record, Someday, Now (out September 20 via Heavenly Recordings) is unquestionably her most confident, assured and honest album to date, and sees Katy assertively step back into the world of pop.

A fixture in the London and UK music scene, Katy counts artists like Yard Act, Metronomy, Orlando Weeks and Wet Leg among her friends and collaborators, with whom, amongst others, she reinterpreted the score of The Wicker Man, in celebration of the film’s 50th anniversary. Deeply rooted in her countryside upbringing, Katy’s music often returns to the beauty of natural surroundings, and the folklore of these mythical places.
